Background
Lo Mehnert is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist with offices in North County, San Diego. She is also a Registered Nurse with a Master's degree in Public Health/ Maternal & Child Health. She worked for a number of years as a Public Health Nurse and Intensive Care Unit Nurse and believes this experience helps her to appreciate the impact of lifestyle on mental health. Although she enjoys working with all people, she has a special heart for adolescent girls and women of all ages who are searching for ways to overcome the places in their lives that are no longer working. Because of her extensive health background, Lo enjoys working with clients with health issues such as chronic fatigue syndrome, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc.
Lo received her Master's degree in Marital & Family Therapy at Bethel Seminary San Diego and believes that faith can be a significant part of the healing process. She interned with SDSU Research Foundation working with elementary school age children and their families as well as with the Guide Program at Carlsbad Police Department working with high risk children and at Practical Recovery in La Jolla serving clients with addiction issues.
Lo believes in empowering individuals to grow past places of impasse and hurt and uses a sensitive and respectful approach in collaborating with her clients to achieve their goals.
Lo currently has a private practice that sees individuals, families, and groups primarily for issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. She uses a combination of approaches including EMDR, CBT, experiential, and psychodynamic.
Lo is on the Board of San Diego North County CAMFT and leads the North County Christian Association of Psychological Studies group.
